big government and possible corruption

Glenn Rogers authored HB5406, creating a regional water authority (more unnecessary government) encompassing Palo Pinto, Parker, and Stephens Counties within District 60. The bill, however, gave too much power and control to the water board of Mineral Wells (Palo Pinto County) which has been known for its mismanagement and environmental violations with the TCEQ.

The bill's most controversial language revolved around the use of eminent domain and groundwater. In a hearing before Judge Long of Palo Pinto County, Rogers' campaign spokesman promised to change the eminent domain language of HB5406. Yet, after gaining the judge's approval, Rogers refused to change the bill's language, leading to angry voters calling the Senate offices of King and Springer and defeating the bill.

Turkey Peak is another "pet" project championed by Rogers. The future proposed reservoir will be funded by the highest water rates in the state of Texas, paid for by the citizens of Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County.

What Representative Rogers does not promote is the fact that his Campaign Treasurer Don Crawford serves as Vice President of the Mineral Wells Water Board.

What Representative Rogers does not promote is the fact that his Campaign Treasurer Don Crawford serves as Vice President of the Mineral Wells Water Board. This potential conflict of Interest could be the primary reason for "Turkey Peak," which will cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Glenn Rogers, the City of Mineral Wells, and the Water District have continued to ignore far less costly solutions for the current water crisis while pushing this taxpayer boondoggle, potentially benefiting a select few individuals in the County.

Representative "All hat, no cattle" Rogers has done nothing to quell the anger of citizens over the city's water management and resident water bills.

Voters recently signed petitions to open an investigation with the Public Utility Commission against the City of Mineral Wells due to their exorbitant water rates. The City's first response to the PUC is due on Jan 5, 2024. In the meantime, residents are paying water bills that are upwards of $500.00 to $600.00. Glenn Rogers continued silence on the high water rates is leading voters to question his commitment to solving this current water crisis.

Rogers voted to give Democrats powerful chairmanships in the Texas House

Instead of empowering Republicans, Rogers decided to give Democrats prominent positions in the Texas House. This was a part of the House Rules package. When given the opportunity to side with 7 conservatives in the House, Rogers did not stand with conservatives to challenge the ruling. Instead, Rogers enabled Democrats to be able to kill important Republican legislation. 1

2

Rogers voted to impeach Ken Paxton, the most conservative Attorney General in the county

Without any evidence of wrongdoing, Rogers voted to impeach Conservative Attorney General Ken Paxton in the final hours of the legislative session. Instead of working to pass important border security or parental rights bills, Glenn decided to participate in a witch hunt against a fellow Republican. The Texas State Senate later acquitted Paxton of all charges and accusations that were levied against him. 2

3

Rogers voted to place Democrats on the Border Security Council

Yet again, Rogers decided to give power to the democrats by voting to give them positions on the border security council. The aim of this council is to end the invasion and secure the southern border. How can the council carry out this task when it is chaired by Democrats who support open borders? 3

4

Rogers voted to water down Constitutional Carry

Rogers opposed Constitutional Carry on college campuses and for all legal adults, including single mothers and those aged 18 to 20. He also voted against Constitutional Carry on lands managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority. Rogers' anti-gun votes contributed to a confusing patchwork of laws that may impact law-abiding gun owners. 4

5

Rogers voted with Democrats to kill school choice

Glenn has been one of the biggest opponents of school choice in the entire state. Rather than empowering parents to make educational decisions for their children, Rogers voted for a democrat amendment to kill school choice. Thanks to Rogers, Texas will continue to fund failing systems instead of supporting students. 5
